No, this isn’t a Christmas music mix, though there is one true actual Christmas song, this is more suited for those of you (us) that are feeling quite belittled by this years seasons greetings and probably uneventful Christmas festivities.  That isn’t to say that it’s all doom and gloom with these tracks, in fact some you will find empowering and feel good, as per the norm with yours truly.

So far, I remain at an average level of happiness.  That is my update for now.  Enjoi my mixtape!

Whippin Sean vs Hunger – Cleanliness of Canned Drinks

Welcome to the first episode of my new series, Whippin Sean vs Hunger.  I will dive deep into the world of food and food related issues, including reviews, ideas, original recipes, store reviews, and much more!  I eat a lot of food, and most of it is processed junk food, so I have very strong opinions on the matter and hope that you enjoy this series and I tempt you into either trying something new or staying away from something all together.

Today I look at a fairly uncommon practice of washing your canned soda, juice, etc. before use.  This pertains mostly to the single units that you grab out of a convenience stores fridge as they are, obviously, most often touched by and handled by the public after what actually happens to them (apparently) in the warehouses and factories.

Can Dirty Soda Cans Kill You with Rat Urine?

Obviously, not every report is going to be completely true, but, it does certainly give you light on to something that you probably never thought about before.  Also, and this is purely a personal matter for me, but a friend of mine who works in a soda pop warehouse has told me many times about dirty and disgusting conditions and that they seem to be allowed to send out product covered in all kinds of nasty shit.

So, what can we do?  Simple.  Before you go to put your lips and tongue all over that sweet, cold and beautiful can of Monster (typecasting here, I know) simply run it under warm or hot water to wash off any residue or stains that may be on the can.

Sure, the can above may look clean to our human eye, but upon closer inspection, I found dirt and grime in the circular crevice on the top of the can.  This is small, caked on shit.   Also, check the bottom of this can:

Notice the purplelish-black stain?  Yeah, you know what the truly disturbing part about that is?  This photo was taken yesterday, and I since went to the Mac’s convenience store today to get another Monster, and sure enough, another odd looking stain at the bottom of it, only this one is more yellow like in color.  I’m not saying that all the factories and warehouses are to blame, this could easily be the fault of the distributors or the stores themselves and where they store them and how long it’s been on the shelf for all of the public to manhandle (which reminds me, always check your dates on your cans especially if you go to a convenience store… ESPECIALLY MAC’S!  This is not hating on Mac’s, it’s just I’ve personally noticed that more often than not, when I come home with a drink, bag of chips, or snack cakes… EXPIRED!  I’ll save that for a future episode), but it should be addressed and I think it’s important that we can make ourselves get into the habit of washing cans before we consume them.  Makes perfect sense….

*goes back to drinking the Monster he bought yesterday without rinsing it off… *

Everything ends in this teardrop tale of life, lust and love…

Well, who else wants to leave?  What else will abruptly quit?  I don’t know any different from now on, this is the way life works.  I got control over my own reigns of life but it would take more than a pair of hands to count the number of times peoples, things, places have drastically changed for the worse in my lifetime, especially as of late.  Do you feel me?

It is now very evident to me that it might not be such a good idea to invest time and emotion into almost anything these days, because you shall be let down… your heart will drop.  Yeahhhhhh, I suppose some of you could accuse me of talking about lovers/gf’s in my life, but I assure you 100% that this is not directly about them.  While it would be easy to lump them together and put them right at the front of this issue, for me… there are things more importantly to me lately.  Things that help me get through the day, get through life, make life interesting, better.

On the radio side of life for me, I listen to Howard Stern A LOT!  I did for 3 years straight until April of 2011 when I just stopped because I really missed Artie Lange, who was a show fixture since early 2000′s.  When he did what he did, a big part of me died, but I still continued to listen but it just came a point when it did not feel the same, even though I was still laughing and enjoying most bits.  He has not returned on the show to this day and is doing a new show and has moved on with his life, seemingly.

Then I have BTLS… Bubba the Love Sponge.  I stopped listening to Bubba around the same time too, cause he left Sirius and did the FM show only, then the new radioIO show, and it was just hard to juggle two, four-hour long shows a day!   I really, really enjoyed BTLS a lot more than Stern for the most part, gotta be honest.  However, I just learned that my favorite personality on the show, Matt “Spice Boy” Loyd has quit the show and moved to a new show on the same station for an evening talk show.  That… is incredibly shitty.  Good for Spice, money is money and you gotta live, but for the BTLS show… this is a huge blow.  Spice was the counter balance to most of the shit I hated about Bubba or what he would talk about, like Nascar, for example.  Spice would always make fun of it.  He would also always get Bubba riled up and it was entertaining, especially when Manson would jump in too.  Manson and Spice worked so well together to “counter-program” Bubba lol… ahhh… sadly… those days are also seemingly gone…

I am also in tune with a videogame/geek culture website (1 of MANY of course) called Clan of the Gray Wolf.  Basically, known mostly for Roo’s 16-bit Gem reviews.  Over the past 2 years, at least for me, I have grown to love their live events like the marathon fundraisers for charity and the once twice a month Echo Screen Live, but I really, really enjoy the Weekly Wringer most of all from the Commodore.  He has a natural talent and I find myself generally always thinking just like him, for the most part.  It was also nice getting a weekly show where us, the viewers can have major input and impact on every episode because Commodore asks a question at the end of every show, and the viewers answer in the comments which he addresses in the next weeks show.  That aside, Roo and Commodore appeared to live in the same city, and that’s why they were able to get together for the Echo Screen Live’s, now Commodore is apparently moving thousands of miles away (assumption) to a different city so no more live show with the two of them together, I wonder if this even jeopardizes the next charity marathons?  Silver lining of this cloud is that they will still do the Echo Screen Live’s and just have Roo on one cam, and Commodore’s feed in as well.  Still… what a downer.

Oh yeah, and MCA died this year, MCA of The Beastie Boys, that is.  It still bothers me.  Not in the “I’m bringing this up because I want attention” way, no fuck that… because the BBoys were/are a huge part of my life and musical upbringing.  One of their songs “Sounds of Science” was predominately placed on the first FX website’s splash screen before you enter the site… whatever… just saying… things change, people go away, nothing ever lasts :(

P.S.  Don’t worry… real FX updates with new FX videos, etc are en route, definitely over due, but en route.  Please, understand that while I may be gifted and talented in some areas, I am also lethargically happy… if you know what I mean…

Did anyone see an allnighter lately? I seem to have lost mine…

Here I sit, on my broken down, gray futon with my laptop firmly pressed on my lap from the weight of my heavy hands and half a can of Monster… my second for the night… with some take out food and some random forms of junk food at 3:48 am.  I have to help some friends move tomorrow afternoon and pull a late night shift later at 10pm, yet still… my desire to keep the “party” going never ceases to prevail even at the most needless of times.  LOL << right?  Right!  I mention my loneliness because I opted for an all nighter, yet again, full of videogame playing, albeit it mostly classic games, movies and shows…. but reality opted me out of having a glorious time.  Why is this?  Because the longer you go, the further you step, the further you also distance yourself from everyone else who you used to or could still pull an all nighter with.

Simply put… rocking out, playing games and eating junk food all night long is never the same as with doing it with at least one other person!  This is not me complaining, however, as we all know I NEVER complain ;)   This is just me wanting to reach out to a world of people out there that are like me, but that most are so far away, or never close enough… that surely through some form of miracle, there is someone out there close to my age and preferably in my city that wants the same thing as me?  *le sigh* hey, I tried!

Ok, so maybe this is a little bit of complaining coming out now; I miss being able to just chill with friends all night long and play a plethora of old/new games, talk shit, maybe… perhaps even go out and cause a little mischief.  Certainly not EVERYBODY is tied down, right?  And, whenever I seem to make a new acquaintance that fits the description of fun and games and same interests, they move the fuck away lol.  As if to say “Haha Whippin Sean… you had an epic night of classic NES and SNES game marathons and watching perverted anime but it was just a taste of what you’ll NEVER have long term LOL!!!”… how dare you!

How do you feel about pulling all nighters at your current age and state in life?  Are you able to find the time to do it even on your days off, if they are the same as your friends/family?  Do you even like staying up all night doing whatever the fuck you want?  **Editors note… as I am writing this, big spiders are literally racing across my couch as if to taunt me**

Leave a comment, register if you have to!  I want to hear from SOMEBODY… anybody… give me something of a motivation booster, it always makes a difference ;)
